Charter is coming out to install cable for me on Wednesday. I've never had anything but regular cable but this time I asked for a DVR box. What should I tell them about the Netflix hookup? I don't even know the necessary lingo.

I'll assume you get your internet access through them as well. In that case tell them to make sure there is a network cable to you media center. They might tell you that you can do it wireless, and you can, but it would be better to have a hard line.

Where I live the best deal I am able to get is to have an At&T/internet bundle and then to have Charter cable for my tv. What with my iPhone, my At&T land line, my addictions to the internet, Showtime and HBO, this is already costing me a monthly fortune. Now I am going to add in a DVR and Netflix on demand.

Setting up my guest room for Tia:

Edit: I took the photo down because the anonymous worker person in it hasn't given me permission to post it. No relation - and it didn't even look like him anyway.

Does that mean he's your grandson, or that you are getting him ready for Tia?

Nope - and neither. He was just helping with the setup.
