Yep...sounds about right. As long as voters fall into the Democrat or Republican, one or the other, two choices but no more than two kind of mentality we will most likely be replaying the same song over and over again. That's why I don't vote for Republicrats.

Well your system is built so it's insanely easy to fall into that trap. If you don't vote Republican you might as well have voted Democrat because the amount of votes needed to topple both parties is huge and unless people get organized that will not happen. That's what I dislike about that system. I'm of course biased but I prefer the system we have in Denmark where you are represented as long as your party gets at least 2 percent of the votes. This has allowed us to have a party even Claybugg could vote for represented.

Talking of signs, it appears that the Tea Party has funded an Obama-Hitler-Lenin poster in Mason City. How desperately dumb and reactionary are these fuckwits? Oh, hang on: these are the same sort of people who started doing a version of Pastor Niemöller's "First they came for ..." statement, trying to claim that they were being treated in a way that was comparable with victims of the Holocaust. Story, with picture.

I was in a bar the other eveing and a fellow was wearing a t-shirt that read "U.S. CONSTITUTION, R.I.P." I wandered behind him and there was some quote from Ronald Reagan on the back of his shirt. The Tea Partiers are very big on saying Obama is doing unconstituional things, but not explaining what is unconstitutional or how this or that is unconstitutional. They remind me of small children starting a club with no clear or concise idea of what their club stands for. They know what it is against, however, they just cannot quite explain it except in silly generalities.

This sort of thing doesn't bother me at all. In fact, I approve. Any open criticism of the government is good thing in my book. Obama is in good company with those two. I have nothing but love for these Tea Party people. They are potential allies.

What is a reverse Hobson, Tom? ( I'm beginning to sound like Gracie Allen here.)

I may have the name wrong.Way back any time someone brought up Bush's name in a derogatory fashion we were reminded of some fellow's theory about mentioning Hitler in a conversation. I guess it is considered rhetorically disingenuous to fall back on the Hitler comparison. (And, it ususally is.) In any event, mentioning that people went overboard with Bush (a man I detest with every fiber of my being) has nothing to do with the tea partier's silliness and does not address the comments made by me regarding the tea party folks chasing down and attack their various windmills.

Thank you.
And as far as change goes, the courts must correct a very bad decsion about a century ago that holds that corporations are the same as people when it comes to political contributions.
