Commercials - Is this how it is?

Someone said about tv shows in the US - "You get 42 minutes of show, with 5 or 6 (can't remember which) commercial breaks" - is that true? That's a lot of commercials.

It depends on the channel. Some are worse than others. A one hour show is generally about 42-47 minutes long. The rest is commercials. Half-hour shows are about 22 minutes long.

Commercials give you a chance to get up and refresh your drink without missing anything. And to pee.

My DVR handles that, Still. I don't know I lived without a pause button all this time! Plus I can fast forward past the commercials. I was like a child on christmas when my son told me I could pause anything playing on TV! :bdragon:

So I looked it up and apparently it's the same in Denmark on some channels, those that are allowed to. Thank god for the internet. Who wants to watch a movie with that many breaks? One movie equals 40 minutes of commercials.. that's not for me, no wonder I won't pay for TV.
